This should avoid the 30s delay caused by shell not responding to SIGTERM, and can only be killed by SIGKILL.
If the pod is deleted with the namespace during cleanup, this also makes cleanup faster, and frees up the resources for the next test cases faster.
This changes the text registration so that tags for which the framework has a
dedicated API (features, feature gates, slow, serial, etc.) those APIs are
used.
Arbitrary, custom tags are still left in place for now.
Currently, the downward API tests flake on Windows with a failure
to allocate memory when starting the agnhost binary used in these
tests. The tests are spawning pods with a memory limit of 64MB,
which is a bit on the low side for a Windows Pod, even if it's
a nanoserver-based image.
Increases the memory limit to 128MB, the primary goal of the tests
is not to enforce and test the limits, but to check if these details
are projected into the Pod.
framework.SIGDescribe is better because:
- Ginkgo uses the source code location of the test, not of the wrapper,
when reporting progress.
- Additional annotations can be passed.
To make this a drop-in replacement, framework.SIGDescribe generates a function
that can be used instead of the former SIGDescribe functions.
windows.SIGDescribe contained some additional code to ensure that tests are
skipped when not running with a suitable node OS. This gets moved into a
separate wrapper generator, to allow using framework.SIGDescribe as intended.
To ensure that all callers were modified, the windows.sigDescribe isn't
exported anymore (wasn't necessary in the first place!).
Using WaitTimeoutForPodRunningInNamespace followed by ExpectError was not very
precise (any error passed the check, not just the expected timeout) and
hard to read. Now the test's expectation is spelled out explicitly: the pod
must stay in pending.
All code must use the context from Ginkgo when doing API calls or polling for a
change, otherwise the code would not return immediately when the test gets
aborted.
ginkgo.DeferCleanup has multiple advantages:
- The cleanup operation can get registered if and only if needed.
- No need to return a cleanup function that the caller must invoke.
- Automatically determines whether a context is needed, which will
simplify the introduction of context parameters.
- Ginkgo's timeline shows when it executes the cleanup operation.
Every ginkgo callback should return immediately when a timeout occurs or the
test run manually gets aborted with CTRL-C. To do that, they must take a ctx
parameter and pass it through to all code which might block.
This is a first automated step towards that: the additional parameter got added
with

The "todo" packages were necessary while moving code around to avoid hitting
cyclic dependencies. Now that any sub package can depend on the framework, they
are no longer needed and the code can be moved into the normal sub packages.

These SkipUnlessFeatureGateEnabled are useless because:
- the tests run in test/e2e where feature gates always
have their default state
- CSIMigration, SizeMemoryBackedVolumes and ExecProbeTimeout are
all enabled by default (beta resp. GA)
