Add MutatingWebhookConfiguration type
As part of Mutating Webhook support, this PR adds the configuration for Mutating webhooks. It also renames existing ReadOnly webhook configurations from ExternalAdmissionHookConfiguration to ValidatingWebhookConfiguration. As part of the process some sub-types are also renamed.
Lastly, the mutating webhook configurations are sorted by name to make the serial executing of them deterministic.

Polymorphic Scale Client
This PR introduces a polymorphic scale client based on discovery information that's able to scale scalable resources in arbitrary group-versions, as long as they present the scale subresource in their discovery information.
Currently, it supports `extensions/v1beta1.Scale` and `autoscaling/v1.Scale`, but supporting other versions of scale if/when we produce them should be fairly trivial.
It also updates the HPA to use this client, meaning the HPA will now work on any scalable resource, not just things in the `extensions/v1beta1` API group.

This updates the HPA controller to use the polymorphic scale client from
client-go. This should enable HPAs to work with arbitrary scalable
resources, instead of just those in the extensions API group (meaning we
can deprecate the copy of ReplicationController in extensions/v1beta1).
It also means that the HPA controller now pays attention to the
APIVersion field in `scaleTargetRef` (more specifically, the group part
of it).
Note that currently, discovery information on which resources are

Update rules_go, repo-infra, and rules_docker dependencies

Use pointer for PSP allow escalation

The `AllowPrivilegeEscalation` field was added to PodSpec and PodSecurityPolicySpec in 1.8.0.
In order to remain compatible with pre-1.8.0 behavior, PodSecurityPolicy objects created against a previous release must not restrict this field, which means the field must default to true in PodSecurityPolicySpec. However, the field was added as a `bool`, not a `*bool`, which means that no defaulting is possible.
We have two options:
1. Require all pre-existing PodSecurityPolicy objects that intend to allow privileged permissions to update to set this new field to true
2. Change the field to a `*bool` and default it to true.
This PR does the latter. With this change, we have the following behavior:
A 1.8.1+ client/server now has three ways to serialize:
* `nil` values are dropped from serialization (because `omitempty`), which is interpreted correctly by other 1.8.1+ clients/servers, and is interpreted as false by 1.8.0
* `false` values are serialized and interpreted correctly by all clients/servers
* `true` values are serialized and interpreted correctly by all clients/servers
A 1.8.0 client/server has two ways to serialize:
* `false` values are dropped from serialization (because `omitempty`), which is interpreted as `false` by other 1.8.0 clients/servers, but as `nil` (and therefore defaulting to true) by 1.8.1+ clients/servers
* `true` values are serialized and interpreted correctly by all clients/servers
The primary concern is the 1.8.0 server dropping the `false` value from serialization, but I consider the compatibility break with pre-1.8 behavior to be more severe, especially if we can resolve the regression in an immediate point release.

This change corrects RoleBindingBuilder to use the RBAC API group
with users and groups as subjects (service accounts use the empty
string since they are in the legacy core group). This is based on
the defaulting in pkg/apis/rbac/v1/defaults.go#SetDefaults_Subject.
This is required because the bootstrap RBAC data is built with these
helpers and does not go through defaulting, whereas the data
retrieved from the server has already gone through defaulting. This
can lead to the reconciliation code incorrectly adding duplicate
subjects because it believes that they are missing (since the API
groups do not match).

PodSecurityPolicy.allowedCapabilities: add support for * to allow to request any capabilities
**What this PR does / why we need it**:
Prior this change there was no way to allow to pods to request any capabilities. Cluster admin had always specify a full list of capabilities explicitly. Because there are many of them, it gets tedious. This PR makes possible to use `*` to allow all possible capabilities. Non-paranoid (and lazy) cluster admins can use it. Those who are super strict and paranoid of course won't use it because `*` allows capabilities that don't exist today but may be introduced in the future.
"privileged" PSP in examples was modified to allow privileged users to use this feature.

Allow custom client verbs to be generated using client-gen
This change will allow to define custom verbs for resources using the following new tag:

This will generate client method `Foo(bar *Bar) (*api.Blah, error)` (format depends on the particular verb type)
With this change we can add `UpdateScale()` and `GetScale()` into all scalable resources. Note that intention of this PR is not to fix the Scale(), but that is used as an example of this new capability.
Additionally this will also allow us to get rid of `// +genclient:noStatus` and fix guessing of the "updateStatus" subresource presence based on the existence of '.Status' field.
Basically you will have to add following into all types you want to generate `UpdateStatus()` for:

I know about proposal for real API fields for alpha feature in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wuoSqHkeT51mQQ7dIFhUKrdi3-1wbKrNWeIL4cKb9zU/edit, but it seems it's not implemented yet. It would save me quite lot of code and ugly annotation.

We have a lot of code around field selectors that doesn't add much value. Every gettable resources probably wants name and namespace by default and since they all use metav1 (today), we can assign that as a default. If we think we'll always have metav1 style name and namespace, then this makes a reasonable default and you can always set something different.
This removes cruft and avoids the risk of accidentally forgetting a field selector.

Unify genclient tags and add more fine control on verbs generated
This will change the syntax of the existing `genclient` tags be like this:

The first one indicates the client will be generated from the struct below and the other tags are basically options to the genclient (which justify why they should be prefixed with `genclient:`)
This also changes the `// +genclientstatus=false` to `// +genclient:noStatus` to follow the pattern and also changes the `// +noMethods=true` to `// +genclient:noVerbs` as we call the REST operations verbs so it will make it consistent with terminology.
In addition to existing options this patch also add two more to allow more fine-grained control on which verbs are going to be generated. This is extra useful for third-party projects (like OpenShift) where some resources does not implement full CRUD, but for example just "create" verb or "create" and "delete"...
To support that, you can use this syntax:

The first one will generate only create and delete functions and second one will generate full CRUD without "patch" actions. This somehow overlaps with the existing "readonly" tag, but I want to keep that tag in place as it reads better in some cases ;-)

Fix serialization of EnforceNodeAllocatable
EnforceNodeAllocatable being `nil` and `[]` are treated in different
ways by kubelet. Namely, `nil` is replaced with `[]string{"pods"}` by
the defaulting mechanism.
E.g. if you run kubelet in Docker-in-Docker environment
you may need to run it with the following options:
`--cgroups-per-qos=false --enforce-node-allocatable=`
(this corresponds to EnforceNodeAllocatable being empty array and not
null) If you then grab kubelet configuration via /configz and try to
reuse it for dynamic kubelet config, kubelet will think that
EnforceNodeAllocatable is null, failing to run in the
Docker-in-Docker environment.
Encountered this while updating Virtlet for Kubernetes 1.6
(the dev environment is based on kubeadm-dind-cluster)

Promoting apiregistration api from v1alpha1 to v1beta1.
API Registration is responsible for registering an API `Group`/`Version` with
another kubernetes like API server. The `APIService` holds information
about the other API server in `APIServiceSpec` type as well as general
`TypeMeta` and `ObjectMeta`. The `APIServiceSpec` type have the main
configuration needed to do the aggregation. Any request coming for
specified `Group`/`Version` will be directed to the service defined by
`ServiceReference` (on port 443) after validating the target using provided
`CABundle` or skipping validation if development flag `InsecureSkipTLSVerify`
is set. `Priority` is controlling the order of this API group in the overall
discovery document.
The return status is a set of conditions for this aggregation. Currently
there is only one condition named "Available", if true, it means the
api/server requests will be redirected to specified API server.

For the time being, I have manually gone through all of them to bring them up to date
and add HTTPS to those missing it. This is a docs-only change and impacts generated
code, generated swaggers, API reference docs etc.

EnforceNodeAllocatable being `nil` and `[]` are treated in different
ways by kubelet. Namely, `nil` is replaced with `[]string{"pods"}` by
the defaulting mechanism.
E.g. if you run kubelet in Docker-in-Docker environment
you may need to run it with the following options:
`--cgroups-per-qos=false --enforce-node-allocatable=`
(this corresponds to EnforceNodeAllocatable being empty array and not
null) If you then grab kubelet configuration via /configz and try to
reuse it for dynamic kubelet config, kubelet will think that
EnforceNodeAllocatable is null, failing to run in the
Docker-in-Docker environment.
Encountered this while updating Virtlet for Kubernetes 1.6
(the dev environment is based on kubeadm-dind-cluster)

Kubelet flags are not necessarily appropriate for the KubeletConfiguration
object. For example, this PR also removes HostnameOverride and NodeIP
from KubeletConfiguration. This is a preleminary step to enabling Nodes
to share configurations, as part of the dynamic Kubelet configuration
feature (#29459). Fields that must be unique for each node inhibit
sharing, because their values, by definition, cannot be shared.

docker dm.min_free_space defaults to 10%, which "specifies the min free space percent in a thin pool require for new device creation to succeed....Whenever a new a thin pool device is created (during docker pull or during container creation), the Engine checks if the minimum free space is available. If sufficient space is unavailable, then device creation fails and any relevant docker operation fails." [1]
This setting is preventing the storage usage to cross the 90% limit. However, image GC is expected to kick in only beyond image-gc-high-threshold. The image-gc-high-threshold has a default value of 90%, and hence GC never triggers. If image-gc-high-threshold is set to a value lower than (100 - dm.min_free_space)%, GC triggers.

Switch to `Semantic.DeepEqual` when comparing templates on DaemonSet updates, since we can't distinguish between `null` and `[]` in protobuf. This avoids unnecessary DaemonSet pods restarts.
I didn't touch `reflect.DeepEqual` used in controller because it's close to release date, and the DeepEqual in the controller doesn't cause serious issues (except for maybe causing more enqueues than needed).

**Note: QoS level cgroups have to be enabled for any of this to take effect.**
Adds a new `--experimental-qos-reserved` flag that can be used to set the percentage of a resource to be reserved at the QoS level for pod resource requests.
For example, `--experimental-qos-reserved="memory=50%`, means that if a Guaranteed pod sets a memory request of 2Gi, the Burstable and BestEffort QoS memory cgroups will have their `memory.limit_in_bytes` set to `NodeAllocatable - (2Gi*50%)` to reserve 50% of the guaranteed pod's request from being used by the lower QoS tiers.
If a Burstable pod sets a request, its reserve will be deducted from the BestEffort memory limit.
The result is that:
- Guaranteed limit matches root cgroup at is not set by this code
- Burstable limit is `NodeAllocatable - Guaranteed reserve`
- BestEffort limit is `NodeAllocatable - Guaranteed reserve - Burstable reserve`
The only resource currently supported is `memory`; however, the code is generic enough that other resources can be added in the future.

HPA Controller: Use Custom Metrics API
This commit switches over the HPA controller to use the custom metrics
API. It also converts the HPA controller to use the generated client
in k8s.io/metrics for the resource metrics API.
In order to enable support, you must enable
`--horizontal-pod-autoscaler-use-rest-clients` on the
controller-manager, which will switch the HPA controller's MetricsClient
implementation over to use the standard rest clients for both custom
metrics and resource metrics. This requires that at the least resource
metrics API is registered with kube-aggregator, and that the controller
manager is pointed at kube-aggregator. For this to work, Heapster
must be serving the new-style API server (`--api-server=true`).
Before this merges, this will need kubernetes/metrics#2 to merge, and a godeps update to pull that in.
It's also semi-dependent on kubernetes/heapster#1537, but that is not required in order for this to merge.

This commit switches over the HPA controller to use the custom metrics
API. It also converts the HPA controller to use the generated client
in k8s.io/metrics for the resource metrics API.
In order to enable support, you must enable
`--horizontal-pod-autoscaler-use-rest-clients` on the
controller-manager, which will switch the HPA controller's MetricsClient
implementation over to use the standard rest clients for both custom
metrics and resource metrics. This requires that at the least resource
metrics API is registered with kube-aggregator, and that the controller
manager is pointed at kube-aggregator. For this to work, Heapster
must be serving the new-style API server (`--api-server=true`).

Add storage.k8s.io/v1 API
v1 API is direct copy of v1beta1 API. This v1 API gets installed and exposed in this PR, I tested that kubectl can create both v1beta1 and v1 StorageClass.

a custom metric and a metric that was encoded in v1 as
targetCPUUtilizationPercentage were used at the same time. In this
case, the custom metric could overwrite the CPU metric, or vice versa.

with multiple metrics.

This PR explores how kubectls "--dns" could be extended to specify multiple DNS servers for in-cluster PODs. Testing on the local libvirt-coreos cluster shows that multiple DNS server are injected without issues.
Specifying multiple DNS servers increases resilience against
- Packet drops
- Single server failure
I am debugging services that do 50+ DNS requests for a single incoming interactive request, thus highly increase the chance of a slowdown (+5s) due to a single packet drop. Switching to two DNS servers will reduce the impact of the issues (roughly +1s on glibc, 0s on musl, error-rate goes down to error-rate^2).
Note that there is no need to change any runtime related code as far as I know. In the case of "default" dns the /etc/resolv.conf is parsed and multiple DNS server are send to the backend anyway. This only adds the same capability for the clusterFirst case.
I've heard from @thockin that multiple DNS entries are somehow considered. I've no idea what was considered, though. This is what I would like to see for our production use, though.

Currently, on server start, bootstrap roles and bindings are only created if there are no existing roles or rolebindings.
Instead, we should look at each bootstrap role and rolebinding, and ensure it exists and has required permissions and subjects at server start. This allows seamless upgrades to new versions that define roles for new controllers, or add permissions to existing roles.

StatefulSet hardening
**What this PR does / why we need it**:
This PR contains the following changes to StatefulSet. Only one change effects the semantics of how the controller operates (This is described in #38418), and this change only brings the controller into conformance with its documented behavior.
1. pcb and pcb controller are removed and their functionality is encapsulated in StatefulPodControlInterface. This class modules the design contoller.PodControlInterface and provides an abstraction to clientset.Interface which is useful for testing purposes.
2. IdentityMappers has been removed to clarify what properties of a Pod are mutated by the controller. All mutations are performed in the UpdateStatefulPod method of the StatefulPodControlInterface.
3. The statefulSetIterator and petQueue classes are removed. These classes sorted Pods by CreationTimestamp. This is brittle and not resilient to clock skew. The current control loop, which implements the same logic, is in stateful_set_control.go. The Pods are now sorted and considered by their ordinal indices, as is outlined in the documentation.
4. StatefulSetController now checks to see if the Pods matching a StatefulSet's Selector also match the Name of the StatefulSet. This will make the controller resilient to overlapping, and will be enhanced by the addition of ControllerRefs.
5. The total lines of production code have been reduced, and the total number of unit tests has been increased. All new code has 100% unit coverage giving the module 83% coverage. Tests for StatefulSetController have been added, but it is not practical to achieve greater coverage in unit testing for this code (the e2e tests for StatefulSet cover these areas).
6. Issue #38418 is fixed in that StaefulSet will ensure that all Pods that are predecessors of another Pod are Running and Ready prior to launching a new Pod. This removes the potential for deadlock when a Pod needs to be rescheduled while its predecessor is hung in Pending or Initializing.
7. All reference to pet have been removed from the code and comments.

NetworkPolicy validation improvements
I noticed while implementing NetworkPolicy that I we weren't validating the "Ports" field at all.
The docs are actually completely silent about what a string-valued Port field is supposed to mean. I had guessed it meant to call `net.LookupPort()` on it (ie, map it from /etc/services) but in every other case where we have an IntOrString-valued Port field in an API struct, it refers to a named ContainerPort. But that would be extremely awkward to implement in this case; a policy specifying a named port could end up mapping to a different numeric port on every container in the namespace... Do other people actually implement string-valued ports that way? Or, for that matter, implement string-valued ports at all? (Related: I hadn't noticed until now that you can leave the Port value unspecified, allowing you to say "allow to all UDP ports, but no TCP ports" or "allow to all TCP ports, but no UDP ports". That seems like something that ended up in the spec just because it was possible, not because it was actually useful...)

Admission control support for versioned configuration files
**What this PR does / why we need it**:
Today, the `--admission-control-config-file=` argument takes an opaque file that is shared across all admission controllers to provide configuration. This file is not well-versioned and it's shared across multiple plug-ins. Some plugins take file based configuration (`ImagePolicyWebhook`) and others abuse flags to provide configuration because we lacked a good example (`InitialResources`). This PR defines a versioned configuration format that we can use moving forward to provide configuration input to admission controllers that is well-versioned, and does not require the addition of new flags.
The sample configuration file would look as follows:

In an effort to expand the existing pool of reviewers and establish a
two-tiered review process (first someone lgtms and then someone
experienced in the project approves), we are adding new reviewers to
existing owners files.
If You Care About the Process:

We did this by algorithmically figuring out who’s contributed code to
the project and in what directories. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work
well: people that have made mechanical code changes (e.g change the
copyright header across all directories) end up as reviewers in lots of
places.
Instead of using pure commit data, we generated an excessively large
list of reviewers and pruned based on all time commit data, recent
commit data and review data (number of PRs commented on).
At this point we have a decent list of reviewers, but it needs one last
pass for fine tuning.

Previously it was possible to use allowedDirsruptions calculated for the previous spec with the current spec. With generation check API servers always make sure that allowedDisruptions were calculated for the current spec.
At the same time I set the registry policy to only accept updates if the version based on which the update was made matches to the current version in etcd. That ensures that parallel eviction executions don't use the same allowed disruption.

This is the first stab at getting the Kubelet running on Windows (fixes#30279), and getting it to deploy network-accessible pods that consist of Windows containers. Thanks @csrwng, @jbhurat for helping out.
The main challenge with Windows containers at this point is that container networking is not supported. In other words, each container in the pod will get it's own IP address. For this reason, we had to make a couple of changes to the kubelet when it comes to setting the pod's IP in the Pod Status. Instead of using the infra-container's IP, we use the IP address of the first container.
Other approaches we investigated involved "disabling" the infra container, either conditionally on `runtime.GOOS` or having a separate windows-docker container runtime that re-implemented some of the methods (would require some refactoring to avoid maintainability nightmare).
Other changes:
- The default docker endpoint was removed. This results in the docker client using the default for the specific underlying OS.

Switch DisruptionBudget api from bool to int allowed disruptions [only v1beta1]
Continuation of #34546. Apparently it there is some bug that prevents us from having 2 different incompatibile version of API in integration tests. So in this PR v1alpha1 is removed until testing infrastructure is fixed.
Base PR comment:
Currently there is a single bool in disruption budget api that denotes whether 1 pod can be deleted or not. Every time a pod is deleted the apiserver filps the bool to false and the disruptionbudget controller sets it to true if more deletions are allowed. This works but it is far from optimal when the user wants to delete multiple pods (for example, by decreasing replicaset size from 10000 to 8000).
This PR adds a new api version v1beta1 and changes bool to int which contains a number of pods that can be deleted at once.

I've put big warning comments around the pieces that do that to make sure it's clear and covered the rollback in admission if the policy fails to validate.

A few accumulated cleanups to conversion, and then a big change. Please review commit-by-commit. Verified by nuking all generated files and comparing the new results.

Previously we refused to emit 'autoConvert_*' functions if any field was not
convertible. The way around this was to write manual Conversion functions, but
to do so safely you must handle every fields. Huge opportunity for errors.
This PR cleans up the filtering such that it only operates on types that should
be converted (remove a lot of code) and tracks when fields are skipped. In
that case, it emits an 'autoConvert' function but not a public 'Convert'
function. If there is no manual function, the compile will fail.
This also means that manual conversion functions can call autoConvert functions
and then "patch up" what they need.

Refactor cert utils into one pkg, add funcs from bootkube for kubeadm to use

We have ended-up with rather incomplete and fragmented collection of utils for handling certificates. It may be worse to consider using `cfssl` for doing all of these things, but for now there is some functionality that we need in `kubeadm` that we can borrow from bootkube. It makes sense to move the utils from bookube into core, as discussed in #31221.

Add flag to set CNI bin dir, and use it on gci nodes

When using `kube-up` on GCE, following #31023 which moved the workers from debian to gci, CNI just isn't working. The root cause is basically as discussed in #28563: one flag (`--network-plugin-dir`) means two different things, and the `configure-helper` script uses it for the wrong purpose.
This PR adds a new flag `--cni-bin-dir`, then uses it to configure CNI as desired.
As discussed at #28563, I have also added a flag `--cni-conf-dir` so users can be explicit

Change rbac roleref to reflect the information we want

AppArmor PodSecurityPolicy support
Implements the AppArmor PodSecurityPolicy support based on the alpha API proposed [here](https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/blob/master/docs/proposals/apparmor.md#pod-security-policy)
This implementation deviates from the original proposal in one way: it adds a separate option for specifying a default profile:
```
apparmor.security.alpha.kubernetes.io/defaultProfileName
```
This has several advantages over the original proposal:
- The default is explicit, rather than implicit on the ordering
- The default can be specified without constraining the allowed profiles
- The allowed profiles can be restricted without specifying a default (requires every pod to explicitly set a profile)
The E2E cluster does not currently enable the PodSecurityPolicy, so I will submit E2E tests in a separate PR.

MTU selection is difficult, and if there is a transport such as IPSEC in
use may be impossible. So we allow specification of the MTU with the
network-plugin-mtu flag, and we pass this down into the network
provider.
Currently implemented by kubenet.

Kubelet: add --container-runtime-endpoint and --image-service-endpoint
Flag `--container-runtime-endpoint` (overrides `--container-runtime`) is introduced to identify the unix socket file of the remote runtime service. And flag `--image-service-endpoint` is introduced to identify the unix socket file of the image service.
This PR is part of #28789 Milestone 0.

allow group impersonation
Adds an "Impersonate-Group" header that can be used to specify exactly which groups to use on an impersonation request.
This also restructures the code to make it easier to add the scopes header next. This closely parallels the "Impersonate-User" header, so I figured I'd start easy.

Let's make the default behaviour of kernel tuning configurable. The default behaviour is kept modify as has been so far.

[Kubelet] Rename `--config` to `--pod-manifest-path`. `--config` is deprecated.
This field holds the location of a manifest file or directory of manifest
files for pods the Kubelet is supposed to run. The name of the field
should reflect that purpose. I didn't change the flag name because that
API should remain stable.

Simplify canonical element term in deepcopy
Replace the old functional canonical element term in deepcopy registration with direct struct instantiation.
The old way was an artifact of non-uniform pointer/non-pointer types in the signature of deepcopy function. Since we changed that to always be a pointer, we can simplify the code.

Rewrite service controller to apply best controller pattern
This PR is a long term solution for #21625:
We apply the same pattern like replication controller to service controller to avoid the potential process order messes in service controller, the change includes:
1. introduce informer controller to watch service changes from kube-apiserver, so that every changes on same service will be kept in serviceStore as the only element.
2. put the service name to be processed to working queue
3. when process service, always get info from serviceStore to ensure the info is up-to-date
4. keep the retry mechanism, sleep for certain interval and add it back to queue.
5. remote the logic of reading last service info from kube-apiserver before processing the LB info as we trust the info from serviceStore.
The UT has been passed, manual test passed after I hardcode the cloud provider as FakeCloud, however I am not able to boot a k8s cluster with any available cloudprovider, so e2e test is not done.
Submit this PR first for review and for triggering a e2e test.

rbac validation: rules can't combine non-resource URLs and regular resources
This PR updates the validation used for RBAC to prevent rules from mixing non-resource URLs and regular resources.
For example the following is no longer valid

And must be rewritten as so.

It also:
* Mandates non-zero length arrays for required resources.
* Mandates non-resource URLs only be used for ClusterRoles (not namespaced Roles).
* Updates the swagger validation so `verbs` are the only required field in a rule. Further validation is done by the server.
Also, do we need to bump the API version?

add tokenreviews endpoint to implement webhook
Wires up an API resource under `apis/authentication.k8s.io/v1beta1` to expose the webhook token authentication API as an API resource. This allows one API server to use another for authentication and uses existing policy engines for the "authoritative" API server to controller access to the endpoint.

Generate a better Stringer method for proto types
This replaces the bad string output generated by golang/proto with gogo/protobuf stringer generation. Makes the output similar to %#v and more debuggable. We have to have a String() method to implement proto.Message, so this is strictly better.

controller-manager support number of garbage collector workers to be configurable
The number of garbage collector workers of controller-manager is a fixed value 5 now, make it configurable should more properly
This mostly takes the previously checked in files and removes them, and moves
the generation to be on-demand instead of manual. Manually verified no change
in generated output.

Deepcopy: avoid struct copies and reflection Call
- make signature of generated deepcopy methods symmetric with `in *type, out *type`, avoiding copies of big structs on the stack
- switch to `in interface{}, out interface{}` which allows us to call them with without `reflect.Call`
The first change reduces runtime of BenchmarkPodCopy-4 from `> 3500ns` to around `2300ns`.
The second change reduces runtime to around `1900ns`.
This drives conversion generation from file tags like:
// +conversion-gen=k8s.io/my/internal/version
.. rather than hardcoded lists of packages.
The only net change in generated code can be explained as correct. Previously
it didn't know that conversion was available.
